We handle personal information in accordance with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where applicable, Canada's federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy applies to our website, our in-home, remote, and drop-off support services, and our online store.

2.Who We Are

YourTechBuddy provides friendly technology support and curated tech products to homes and small businesses in Burnaby, British Columbia and the surrounding Metro Vancouver area. 3.Information We Collect

We only collect personal information that is reasonable and necessary to provide our services. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

• Contact details — your name, email address, phone number, and service or billing address.
• Service information — details about your devices, the issue you need help with, appointment preferences, and notes our technicians make to complete the work.
• Order information — products purchased, order history, and delivery details.
• Payment information — processed securely by our third-party payment providers; we do not store full card numbers (see Payment Processing).
• Communications — messages you send us through forms, email, phone, or chat.
• Technical and usage data — limited information your browser shares automatically, such as device type, browser, and pages visited, used to operate and improve the website.

If we ever need to access content on your device to perform a repair or setup, we only access what is necessary to complete the work you have requested.

4.How We Collect It

We collect personal information directly from you when you book a service, place an order, subscribe to our newsletter, fill out a form, or contact us. Some technical data is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you use our website (see Cookies & Analytics). We collect information by fair and lawful means and only for the purposes described in this policy.

Some of our service providers may store or process data outside British Columbia or Canada. Where that occurs, your information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, and we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected.

9.Payment Processing

Payments are handled by reputable third-party payment processors. Your full payment card details are entered directly with the processor and are not stored on our servers. These processors maintain their own security standards and privacy practices for handling cardholder data.

10.Storage & Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required to meet legal, tax, warranty, and accounting obligations. When personal information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely destroy, erase, or anonymize it.

These measures are appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer using the details below. We will respond within the timelines required by law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, and in limited circumstances permitted by law we may be unable to provide certain information.

13.Marketing & Anti-Spam

If you subscribe to our newsletter or otherwise opt in, we may send you commercial electronic messages such as tips, offers, and product news. We send these messages in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every marketing message identifies us and includes a simple way to unsubscribe.

You can opt out of marketing messages at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any message or by contacting us. We will process your request promptly. Note that we may still send you non-marketing messages related to your bookings, orders, or account.

14.Third-Party Links

Our website may link to third-party websites or services that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
